Our three part forum includes experts discussing recent census bureau information about growing diversity, the impact a disaster has on the cultural uniqueness of a region and concludes with a poetic storyteller. We will expand on findings presented in the American Community Survey about the increases in minority populations in every state, except one. You will also hear ideas about how to preserve a regions' culture after disasters have displaced the people and destroyed institutions, organizations and property that provide that region with its cultural uniqueness. We will wrap up our jam packed forum with storyteller, Queen Nur, performing Gumbo Jaliya: Stories from New Orleans.
